Shooting Street and Documentary

My definition of street photography is capturing society at a candid moment.  Whether it's somewhere in the city, small town or out in the countryside.  I want candid and real moments.  Documentary is broader of course and is more about constructing a story.   I love both equally.  In 2017 I started along with others, the Calgary Street Collective.  Now over 50 members, it's a collective for the purpose of supporting street and documentary photographers of all types based in Calgary.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
